About QR Nook
QR Nook is a QR code studio for people who print things: menus, table tents, Wi-Fi signs, business cards, posters, event flyers. It builds the payload correctly, lets you style the code without guessing whether it still works, and exports files that are ready for a print shop or a web page.
The whole studio is a static page. Rendering, decoding and file export happen in your browser with JavaScript; there is no server that receives your links, your contacts, your Wi-Fi password or your logo. The codes are static — the data is inside the pixels — so there is nothing to track, nothing that can be switched off later and nothing that expires.
It is built and maintained by Interhive OÜ, a small studio in Tallinn that makes tiny, dependable web tools.
What it does
- Nine content types
URL, text, Wi-Fi (WIFI: string), vCard 3.0, mailto, SMSTO, tel, geo or maps link, and a VEVENT calendar entry — with a live view of the raw payload, its size in bytes and the QR version it needs.
- Design controls
Module colour or gradient, background or transparency, six module shapes, three corner-frame and two corner-centre styles, quiet zone, error-correction level, a logo with knockout and padding, and a captioned frame. Six presets to start from.
- Scan check
After every change the code is rasterized and decoded with the open-source jsQR library, and the result is compared with what you entered. It catches logos that are too big, low contrast and missing quiet zones.
- Exports
PNG at 1×, 2× or 4× of a size you choose between 256 and 1024 px, SVG at the chosen size, and copy-to-clipboard as PNG. Frames and captions are rendered into the file.
